WW Tubing Waterfall Hike Catskills |
![]() Since the days of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, the image of floating down a river on a hot summer day has always created a sense of adventure. Come join us and experience nature’s ultimate water park in the heart of the rugged Catskill Mountains. A unique one-of-a-kind combination trip featuring a morning of whitewater tubing class I and II rapids on the Esopus Creek and an afternoon hike along a scenic creek to the well-known Kaaterskill Falls. The falls is the tallest two-tiered waterfall in New York with a plunge of 260 feet in total. The falls was the main attraction to tourists during the great mountain resort days of the 1800’s – hence visitors have been making the pilgrimage to see the falls for the last 200 years. Our day begins with arrival at our tubing outfitter where we will gear-up, get tubing instructions and a safety briefing. Tubing is fun and easy – nothing to it – as anyone can do it! Then we will hit the first section of the creek which has a variety of exciting rapids, fun flumes, and calmer stretches just made for drifting. Next we’ll tackle the second section which contains the best of the whitewater. We will encounter larger, faster sets of rapids with names like ‘Railroad Rapids’ and ‘The Chute’. The second half of our Catskill adventure will consist of a quick picturesque drive thru small towns and over a rugged mountain pass known as the Devil’s Notch to the trailhead leading to Kaaterskill Falls. We will embark on a short but super sweet hike along the tumbling creek passing smaller cascades to the great falls itself where we will breakout our picnic lunches, relax, dip our tooties, and soak in the beauty of this natural wonder. What a great way to spend a hot summer day! All trip details and final trip itinerary will be e-mailed to all registered guests the week of the trip date. |
