Lazy River Tubing & Brews on the Delaware

Esopus Tubing 2 300x225.jpg

What a great, fun, and easy going day is planned for you today!  A day of scenic lazy river tubing in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area followed by a tour of a local microbrewery and beer tasting with optional group dinner at brewpub.

A day of floating down the calm and scenic waters of the Delaware River awaits you.  We will arrive at our basecamp - The Shawnee Inn - then shuttle upstream to start our day.  We will float lazily with perhaps a bit of spashing and swimming along the way for approximately 3 miles / 3 hours or so.  Along the way we will enjoy the great scenery that this part of the Delaware River affords us - it is protected National Park land.  Perhaps we will see american bald eagles - very common sight in these parts.  Can't think of a better way to spend a hot summer's day!

We will end our tubing at the foot of the historic Shawnee Inn which is situated right on the river.  Hitting dry land, we will change into some dry clothes then make our way over to the on-premise Shawnee Craft Microbrewery.  We will get a tour of their facility - check out the inner workings, equipment, and learn about what it takes to make some kick-ass and unique brews.  Shawnee Craft makes their brews with all-natural, whole-food ingredients - small batch, handmade beers often aged for months or years in oak barrels - unfiltered, unpasteurized, free of any artificial preservatives or shelf stabilizing agents - and all keeping with the Fidelis Philosophy, "True to Nature, True to the Craft".  The resulting handmade beers are fresh, complex, and deeply satisfying.

After the tour we will cruise on over to Shawnee's own brewpub - The Gem and Keystone - where we will sample some of their specialty hand crafted brews and, if you wish, fuel-up with some tasty grub from their awesome menu before we head for home - the burgers are otherworldly!

All trip details and final trip itinerary will be e-mailed to all registered guests the week of the trip date.
