Ski and Brews Trip to Shawnee Mtn |
![]() Cruise down pristine snow covered trails and slopes in the beautiful snow belt region of the Pocono Mountains – home of Shawnee Mountain Ski Resort – our destination for this winter adventure. Known as the Pocono's favorite ski resort, Shawnee Mountain is a long time favorite for east coasters and is known for its smaller crowds, 100% snow making capabilities, and perfectly groomed slopes. This outing will accommodate skiers of all ability levels from first timers to experts. From simple and safe beginner's runs to challenging expert runs, fun can be had by all, regardless of experience level. If you already know what you are doing, go cut loose on your own, the mountain is all yours. If you never skied before then stick with us and we will get you up on your skis in no time - we are not like other outfitters that simply drop you off and have you fend for yourself. No gear? No problem, we will help you get situated with the rental gear at the mountain. Included with the gear rental package (an additional $28) is a 90 minute group basic ski instruction for all first timers and beginners provided by experts at the ski school at Shawnee Mtn – this is a tremendous deal that no one else offers. Shawnee Mountain boasts the longest ski season in the Poconos and offers skiing, riding, and winter fun for everyone. With the closest major ski resort (less than 1 ½ hours from Manhattan), with 100% snow making coverage - Shawnee makes the most of winter. A true alpine experience close to home with 23 slopes and trails, six lifts and two terrain parks with an equal mix of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain and a longest run of over one mile. And did we mention that Shawnee doesn’t have the crowds that some other ski resorts have so you won’t have to deal with swarms of kamikaze skiers bombing downhill next to you. Hold your horses, the day is not over yet..... a little apre-ski fun to come! Next, we will head on over to a local brewery where we will get a custom tour of their facility and then get to sample some of their own specialty hand crafted brews and, if you wish, refuel with some tasty grub. Shawnee Craft Brewery makes their brews according to centuries old traditions - small batch, hand made beers often aged for months or years in oak barrels - unfiltered, unpasturized, free of any artificial preservatives or shelf stabilizing agents - and all in keeping with the Fidelis Philosophy, "True to nature, True to the craft". What a great way to reward ourselves, relax a bit, and take in the alpine afterglow.... This trip includes transportation costs, all mountain ski day pass, brewery tour and beer tasting at brewpub. Continental breakfast in route. Gear rental and beginner lesson not included in costs - add an additional $28 - and must be reserved in advance (please let us know if you will be needing rentals). Determining your skiing ability is your responsibility!
