Kayaking The Hudson River

There is no better place to go paddling for the day than this particular area of the Hudson River. This is a must do trip for any kayaking enthusiast or anyone wanting to give it a try as no experience is necessary.

Before starting our trip we will go over basic safety guidelines and learn correct paddling techniques. Just like riding a bike, you will get the hang of it before you know it and we’ll hit the open waters. We will explore along the west shoreline and visit places such as Cornwall Bay, Moodna Creek Marsh, and the state park at Plum Point.

The placid and serene waters of Moodna Creek affords great landscape scenery, wildlife spotting and a sense of remoteness. We will stop for our picnic lunch, relax, and gaze out over the mighty Hudson and the impressive Breakneck Ridge and Storm King Mountain beyond. We will make our way back to the kayak put-in and on our way home we will detour to a local vineyard to sample some of their specialty wines.
