Hiking in Harriman State Park |
![]() For this hike we will venture out to the awesome network of trails in Harriman State Park. The second largest state park in New York, Harriman is a haven for hikers with over 220 miles of hiking trails and woods roads. The park is also known for its 32 lakes, multiple cascading streams, numerous old iron mines, fantastic scenery and great vistas. Today we will hike a section of the well known Long Path, see some old iron mines, and trek through some cool and scenic places in the Surebridge area. We will hike for about 5 hours and cover approximately 7 miles on a combination of wide woods roads and rugged narrow hiking paths. We will have plenty of stops along the way including a great spot to enjoy our picnic lunch.
