XC Ski Brews in the Catskills |
![]() Discover the scenic beauty and peaceful tranquility of skiing through the woods in winter time. Set on 6,000 acres deep within the Catskill Mountains, we will ski alongside mountain streams and through hardwood forests on the park’s 25 kilometers of machine groomed ski trails which are perfect for all experience levels. The day will begin by getting everyone outfitted with all our ski gear at the parks winter facility. We will then go over the basic techniques and skills to get you ready to hit the trails. Starting out on level terrain we will cover the ‘glide’ and ‘kick’ motion, stopping, falling (or avoiding it) and getting up, maneuvering, turning, ascending/descending, etc. The basic movements are very natural and can be learned quickly and easily, also it is an excellent activity for providing a full body cardiovascular workout. The diverse terrain of this park affords plenty of gentle trails for first timers just learning the sport as well as challenging terrain for the more adventurous skier. Your day of guided ski touring will consist of exploring the trails for approximately 5-6 hours as we glide past ponds, streams, and forests in their winter glory all of which provide a visually pleasing and picturesque setting for our day of outdoor adventure. Midway through our day, we will take a break in the warm and spacious lodge with our complimentary picnic lunch and grab a hot coco before hitting the trails again in the afternoon. After a full day of exploring outside we’ll head back home but not before making a pit stop at an award winning brewery to enjoy some of their tasty hand crafted brews (or drink of your choice) – first round is on us!. Trip includes all ski rental equipment, transportation costs, licensed guide, ski day pass, continental breakfast, signature picnic lunch, and first round at the brewery. About winter trips – We carefully keep tabs on the weather forecast and prevailing snow conditions for each trip. You will be notified in advance if we believe existing conditions are likely to comprise the quality of the trip (lack of snow, severe weather forecast, etc). In this instance we will do everything possible to accommodate our guests. |
